Meet Our CrossFit Truth Coaches
John Morris, Owner/Coach
I started CrossFit in 2012 when my wife, Jana, convinced me to give the community workout at CrossFit Truth a try. I almost died that first time and I considered myself fairly fit. I was hooked and CrossFit has continued to be my primary choice for fitness over the last 11 years. With every move around Texas we made, our first focus was a church home and CrossFit box. I enjoy strategy of each WOD especially afterwards where I figure out what could have been better or done differently. All about leveraging your strengths and minimizing weaknesses to push your limits to achieve real improvements in fitness.
Jana Morris, Owner/Manager/Coach
After participating in a boot camp program for several years, I started at CrossFit Truth in 2012. I loved the confidence I had when throwing around a barbell. I discovered I was a powerhouse with the back squat. For me, the ability for any person to walk in the box and scale as needed yet everyone give the same effort and reach capacity was amazing! We are unique and gifted in different ways. I feel CrossFit embodies this and I love to introduce new members to CrossFit. My favorite workouts are partner WODs where I get to partner with my best friend and husband, John.
Pete Gabriel, Coach
I started CrossFit at the age of 47 in 2014 after realizing it was time to get back into shape. I knew I needed to attend fitness classes led by a coach to help motivate me. After several months I lost over 30 pounds, lost several inches off my waist, and was feeling great. What I did not expect was the sense of community and friendship that would be at the “box”. Working out now became fun. I have worked out with people as young as 12 and as old as 80 and everyone is able to do the workout. Since retiring, I decided to learn more about CrossFit and received the Level 1 training certification. Now I get to share fitness with new athletes wanting begin their path to fitness!
